Hiddleston: There's hope for Loki

Tom Hiddleston thinks there is 'a glimmer of redemption' in Loki
Tom Hiddleston has revealed that his villainous alter-ego, Loki, isn't all bad.
The British actor reprises his demi-god role from Thor in Avengers Assemble, where he gets to battle with six Marvel superheroes including Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and his brother Thor (Chris Hemsworth), but in the upcoming Thor 2, he hopes to show a more redeeming side to Loki.
"What fascinates me about Loki is that there is a glimmer of redemption in him somewhere, that he's not cray-cray (crazy). That can be expanded into something - maybe Thor could forgive him and Loki could find it in his own heart to accept that forgiveness," he said.
The 31-year-old added: "I haven't seen a script but I'm interested. I think Loki dances on the tightrope of the dark side and the light. In this film, he's really hanging off the edge of the tightrope and about to plummet into the dark side forever, but I think you never know. There might be a hand reaching down to help him back up."
Tom revealed he really enjoyed working with Scarlett Johansson - in one "terrifying" scene.
"I love playing that scene with Scarlett. She was amazing in that scene," he said.
"I always say that acting is a bit like playing tennis, and you can't prepare the game until you go on court. It's the rally you set up between you, and that's where the magic happens. She played some impeccable tennis that day."
Avengers Assemble is in cinemas now.
