AS IF Bach's work St John Passion wasn't arresting enough, Petts Wood Festival Chorus and Orchestra has drafted in Ben Thapa, a former fourth of the charismatic, classical man group G4.
Ben will sing the piece's evangelist solo alongside Jonathan Davies (as Christ), Lesley Ann Knight (soprano) and Sarah Ince (contralto) accompanied by baroque instrumentalists from the area.
Conductor Bryan Wells said the 70-strong chorus, comprised completely from local talents, has responded well in rehearsals to the notoriously complex piece which depicts Christ's suffering and death.
The orchestra has pledged proceeds to Bromley Alzheimer Society.
March 15, 7.30pm at United Reformed Church, Willett Way, Petts Wood. March 16, 7.30pm at St James' RC Church, Petts Wood.
