Parties on the beach are a thing of 18-30 holiday legend – but who ever thought you would be able to have them in lovely, non-coastal Greenwich?
Well now you can dance up a sandstorm, thanks to the enterprising guys at Studio338 on the peninsula.
Their sand arena is the first in London and uses 180 tons of imported sand, wooden decking, cabannas, two beach bars, barbecues, sunbathing decks and hammocks.
And on the off-chance (or likelihood) we don’t quite get a summer to match Ibiza, it is covered in detachable sails.
The beach arena follows Studio 338’s recent addition of a new glass and steel Atrium terrace.
The music and arts venue’s beach party season kicks off on June 4 with Sankeys Beach Festival featuring DJs including DJ W!ld, Phil Weeks, Citizenn and David Mayer.
Techno brand Cocoon arrives on June 25 among a summer lined up with events to make the most of the new facility.
