Croydon band Saint Etienne are among the new acts announced for this year’s OnBlackheath festival.

They will be join already announced headliners Primal Scream, Hot Chip, Belle & Sebastian, Roisin Murphy, James and Squeeze alongside other newly-unveiled acts including Edwyn Collins and Neneh Cherry at the shows on September 10 and 11.

Craig Charles, Deptford-based singer-songwriter Rosie Lowe, Soul II Soul’s Jazzie B and Amber Arcades are among the other acts performing.

The food and music festival is organised in association with John Lewis and features food demonstrations, celebrity chefs and lots of great food to try alongside the musical entertainment.

Saint Etienne and Edwyn Collins are among the acts performing on the Heavenly Stage on Sunday, which is curated by the independent record label Heavenly Recordings.

In a statement, Saint Etienne said: “This September it will be 25 years since our first release on Heavenly. It’s wonderful to be back playing with our friends at OnBlackheath Festival.” 

Heavenly’s founder Jeff Barrett said: “It’s great to be back at OnBlackheath Festival which we’ve been delighted to be part of since it began.  In September it’ll be 25 years since we released Saint Etienne’s first album - Foxbase Alpha - so it’s great to be celebrating this anniversary at the Festival with them.  We’ve got a killer lineup, showcasing the best of Heavenly; from our beginnings to where we are now.”
