Dartford’s rock and roll hero Keith Richards has struck out on his own and recorded a new album.
Famously a member of the Rolling Stones for the past half a century, 71-year-old Richards is preparing to release his first solo record since 1992 in September.
The album is titled Crosseyed Heart and yesterday Richards – who was born in Dartford and used to live in Chastilian Road – unveiled new single, Trouble.

Despite forming more than 50 years ago, the Stones are as popular as ever. They have just completed a massive US tour and an exhibition of Rolling Stones art is on display at the Saatchi Gallery in London until September.
Richards’ album will contain 15 tracks, encompassing his reggae, rock, country and blues influences.
On Trouble, Keef plays not only electric guitar but acoustic guitar, bass and both lead and back-up vocals.
He said: “I had a ball making this new record and working with Steve Jordan and Waddy Wachtel again. There’s nothing like walking into a studio and having absolutely no idea what you’re going to come out with on the other end. If you’re looking for ‘Trouble,’ you’ve come to the right place.”
