A civil servant from Erith has been nominated for three national music awards.
Country singer Wayne Jacobs’ song about the 9/11 disaster, May We Never Forget, is up for a hattrick of gongs at the ukcountryradio.com awards, with the winner announced at a bash in Derby in Septmember.
The 54-year-old, of Riverdale Road, is nominated for UK Country Artist of the Year, the Listeners’ Club Song Award and UK Male Country Singer of the Year awards.

He has won the Listeners’ Club prize for the past three years.
Mr Jacobs said: “I got the idea for the song from a plague on the wall at ground zero in New York, the plaque reads ‘May We Never Forget those who fell and those that carry on’.
“The curator of the Museum has given me permission to upload my song to there site which is a great honour.”
