When their band went separate ways after a handful of successful gigs in 1983, the members of Arque probably never thought they would play together again.

But thanks to Facebook, the band tracked each other down and are once again playing their fusion of hard rock and prog – which they dub ‘powerprog’ - under the name Konchordat.

They’re headed for The Iron Horse in Sidcup on June 27.

Having not played together in 30 years, Singer Stuart Martin, 49 from Woolwich, and bass player Steve Cork, 52, got in touch with drummer Neil Hayman and keyboard player Neil Watts through the social media to invite them to join the band – now called Konchordat – and record an album the two of them had written.

Their record The New Crusade was released in 2011.

Drummer Neil, a lecturer a Bexley College, said: “This album was reviewed by Classic rock and a lot of gigs came off the back of it.”
He added: “We are all seriously into rock with a touch of prog.

“We are accomplished players who are all now family men and are not after fame and fortune, although it would be nice.”

As well as the gig on June 27, Konchordat is set to release a new album soon.
