Music-lovers are being invited to a new live gig night in Petts Wood.

The New Strange Brew Club is launching next Friday (March 9) with a performance from Bromley-based rock band The Electric Experience who will play a set including Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Santana and Doors covers.

Situated above the British Legion’s club next to Morrisons in Queensway, the new venue will be open fortnightly with the second gig being on March 23.

Simon Hill, DJ and organiser, said: “I thought we’d have it every fortnight to give people something to look forward to and give them a bit of a break.

“I’ve been getting lots of really good feedback from people.

“Our capacity is 100 people and I think we might get close to that on Friday.

“I’m really looking forward to it.

“The venue has a cheap licensed bar, dance floor, car park and smoking areas.”

All profits from the events will go to the British Legion.

Simon added: “The British Legion has suffered dwindling membership in recent years and are now opening their doors to all comers to help boost funds for our war-time veterans and ex-forces personnel.

“All profits from the live music events will go towards helping our heroes.”

Doors open at 7.30pm and entrance is £3.
