AN ORGAN and keyboard club used ‘the force’ to try and get more members.
Orpington Organ and Keyboard Club recruited electronic organist Alex Payler to kickstart its campaign by playing to shoppers in The Walnuts shopping centre.
And the first piece he chose to play was the theme tune from Star Wars.
He then played a selection of music from films, shows and classical pieces.
The club meets at the Crofton small hall on the last Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm for 8pm (except December) for a two and a half hour concert, with a break for refreshments.
This costs £5 for members and £7 for non-members.
Concerts start again in the new year on January 31 when they will be entertained by concert organist by Ryan Edwards.
