A GIG night in New Cross for new and emerging bands and artists hopes to go out with a bang for their final show of the year.
The Breakout Club, run by youth arts charity The Midi Music Company, will feature performances from some of the hottest fresh talent in Lewisham and the surrounding area.
Held at the New Cross Inn in New Cross Road on Monday, from 8pm until late, the free event will be opened by folk-pop singer-songwriter Hazel Jane MacLaurin, followed by a collection of stellar bands, including rock reggae punksters LazyTalk and the Stepsons, who cut their teeth in the industry performing as Katy B’s backing band, as well as playing with Adele.
The south-east London trio are now forging a path as a band in their own right, with heavy jazz and hip-hop influences.
Headlining the night for a blazing finale is seven-piece Southpaw, formed early last year, who create their sound with moods and ideas, with a raw vibe and mellow hype.
