It’s time to get making your mind up if you want a taste of eighties fun because Cheryl, Mike and Jay, formerly of Bucks Fizz, are heading to Bromley next month.

Three-quarters of the 1981 Eurovision-winning band, who sold over 15 million records worldwide, will perform at the Churchill Theatre on October 16 and you can expect to be on your feet rocking out to their iconic number one hits as they storm the stage in colourful outfits and crazy dance routines.

Group member Cheryl Baker, who used to live in Eltham but now lives a little but further in to Kent, told us she is looking forward to playing so close to home.

She said: “I’m very excited to come to Bromley. It’s the closest theatre to me and I have lots of friends and family from that area. It’ll be so nice to play there.

“It’s a lovely big stage. The great thing about Churchill Theatre is that you can see the whole audience up on their feet having a great time.

“We get all sorts of people, young and old, you even get to recognise some of the fans.”

After last year’s sell-out tour Paradise Regained, the group jumped at the chance to do another this year.

She said: “They asked us if we would do another one this year and we said yes of course. I love what I do. We already have a tour agreed for next year, it’s what we do.

The band is already working on a new album with legendary 80s producer Mike Stock, which they hope to release next year, and Cheryl is also working on her first ever solo album.

She said: “I am really loving it. It’s a dedication to Joni Mitchell, my guitarist and I are huge fans of her, and it should also be out next year.”

As for the upcoming tour, fans will be treated to everything they’ve come to expect over the years – including that iconic dance routine.

Cheryl said: “It’s a real nostalgic trip. We do all the number ones, we have a big screen showing old videos and of course we still rip our skirts off at the end!”
