Summer will come to a close in Ibizan style in Kent once again this year as The Social Festival Returns for a fourth year.
Taking over the Kent County Showground near Maidstone on September 9 and 10, the festival brings a world class musical line-up to one-of-a-kind stages – with top names in techno, house, disco and drum and bass.
And for the first time, the festival is also including overnight camping this year.
Here are 11 reasons why you won’t want to miss it…
Carl Cox
Has anyone in techno had more of an influence than Carl Cox? Here’s a chance to witness the legend in action.
Sasha and Digweed
The pair, who made their name at Renaissance, helped define house and trance music in the nineties. This will be their first back-to-back festival set for over five years and could be their last ever performance together.
Laurent Garnier
The French techno innovator has picked up skills from all over the globe and was one of Mixmag’s best DJs of all time.
Goldie
Everyone knows Goldie, don’t they? Drum and bass icon, the king of jungle, Snatch actor and classical musical conductor – he’s sure to be a popular performer.
Andrew Weatherall
One of the most respected DJs in the world, famed for his high-profile remixes and production for artists such as Manic Street Preachers, My Bloody Valentine, New Order and James.
Outdoor cinema
It’s not all about the DJs. An outdoor movie theatre will be showing music-related films and documentaries.
The Zip Line
You’re sure to get a unique view of the festival – and an adrenaline rush – from the zip line.
It’s a wipe-out
Get physical on the giant Total Wipeout-style activity course.
Spray away
Express yourself and contribute to the giant graffiti wall.
Look after yourself
If you’re after a little bit of ‘me’ time, there are pampering areas. If you want to get a bit spiritual, the festival has tarot and crystal ball readings. Or if you want to get indulgent there are oxygen bars, shisha lounges, cocktails bars and even tattooists.
The grub
With more than 20 independent food and drink vendors on site, there's plenty of great opportunities to fill your belly.
Tickets cost from £44.50. Go to thesocialfestival.com
