For those who have not been following former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger’s career too closely of late, the prospect of her performing with classical icon Andrea Bocelli could throw up some strange mental images.
Surely we could all appreciate a version of Don’t Cha where Andrea does the Busta Rhymes rap bits?
Alas, when Nicole appears at the opera singer’s show at the O2 on October 1, she’ll be bringing recent experience as an Olivier Award nominated West End star.
She said: “It’s such an honour to share the stage with Mr Bocelli; we always have the best time working together and singing with him is truly the closest I've ever come to singing with an angel.
"I was so appreciative that he asked me to perform alongside him once again and I am very much looking forward to another unforgettable show.”

Nicole previously teamed up with Andrea for No Llores Por Mi Argentina – a version of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Don’t Cry For Me Argentina from the show and film Evita - from the tenor’s most recent album Cinema.
Andrea said: “Nicole has a rare talent.
“Her performance on my album was a highlight for me and to sing with her again will be a highlight of the tour too.
“Our voices just work together. I know a great voice when I hear one and Nicole has proved that she is more than just a pop star.”
Taking songs from movies such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Life is Beautiful and Gladiator, Cinema reached number three in the UK charts and made Andrea the only classical artist to achieve three top ten albums.
Andrea said: “It has been a dream of mine for decades to bring to life great film soundtracks.
“They are an artistic treasure trove and a soundtrack to many people’s lives, experiences and precious memories.
“Bringing the ‘Cinema’ album to live concert audiences is an opportunity I could not miss.”
