Take That have roared back into life, announcing a series of five live shows in Greenwich next year, and turning on the Christmas lights in Regent Street this weekend.

The man-band, newly a three-piece consisting Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, will play the O2 on June 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9 next year, with tickets going on sale on Thursday, November 13, at 9am.

Having already sold 30million albums and had 15 number one singles, the band is set to release its seventh studio album III on December 1 and new single These Days on November 23.

They will be supported by Ella Henderson on tour.

This Sunday, the UK’s most successful ever live act, will also switch on the Christmas lights at Regent Street.

The event is hosted by Heart FM, whose presenters Jamie Theakston and Emma Bunton will host proceedings with fellow Heart DJs Mark Wright, Jason Donovan, Jenni Falconer, Tony Anstis and JK and Lucy appearing on stage.

The lights are themed around the new Ben Stiller film Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb and include living statues of the characters and an exclusive app.

Boyband Union J, pop singer Jessie Ware, the cast of The Jersey Boys and Britain’s Got Talent contestants The Jack Pack will all perform.

On street entertainment begins at noon with performances from 4pm and the switch-on and fireworks at 5pm.
