Sidcup’s John Paul Jones and his surviving bandmates in the iconic rock group Led Zeppelin have released a new video for the alternate mix of the song Rock and Roll.
The previously unreleased version is featured on the newly released deluxe edition of the classic album Led Zeppelin IV.
The band has also re-released a deluxe version of Houses of the Holy.
Both albums have been remastered by guitarist Jimmy Page and are accompanied by a disc of companion audio of unreleased music.
Commenting on the newly released version of Rock and Roll, 68-year-old John Paul Jones – who was born in Sidcup and went to Christ’s College in Blackheath – said: “As a song, it was actually kind of punky; pre-punk.
“It was really fast too, on stage anyway. It just got really quick, a lot of energy. It’s a lot of fun to play. The crowd loved it. We loved it.”
