12:51pm Tuesday 7th October 2008
Matter - the new super-club night at the O2 - is hosting a five-date dance festival. October sees the finest in live and turntable talent take to the former Dome for This Is Not London.
Last Friday's launch night with Simian Mobile Disco was a hit and the Justice-headlined night on Oct 25 has already sold out. You'd better move fast before the remaining dates do the same. New York dance legend Armand Van Helden's appearance on Oct 17 is a dead cert for hot ticket status.
Celebrating the release of the second album in the New York: A Mix Odyssey series, the U Don't Know Me mixer is bringing a host of other DJ talent along to the club, which was established by the people who brought clubland Fabric.
Also on the bill is X-Press 2's Ashley Beedle, a live set from Australian dance duo Pnau, Canadian urban-electro mixer, and Kanye West's DJ of choice, A-trak, psychedelic disco pop lover Cagedbaby, The Black Ghosts' dark, soulful grooves, and hard beats from Mowgli.
The event continues on Oct 18 with a more live music feel where acts such as Tilly and the Wall and Kate Nash will perform. The varied bill aims to reflect the capital's melting pot' of styles.
This Is Not London at Matter, The O2, Greenwich. Oct 17, Oct 18, Oct 24 and Oct 25.
