What is there to do?
The centre houses 150 to 200 birds, a newly-built
reptile house and various mammals, including meerkats, Asian short-clawed otters and a cheetah. There are birds and mammal shows every day. There is an indoor lecture room (education is a big part of Eagle Height's work), a flying arena and a play area. For those interested in conservation, there is a bird hospital.
What sort of families will enjoy it?
Eagle Heights is suitable for all ages. It is an ideal destination for animal lovers, especially those with an interest in birds.
How do we get there?
The site is five minutes drive from the intersection of the M25, Junction 3, and M20 Junction exits. There is a route planner for directions available on the Eagle Heights website (eagleheights.co.uk). There is no public transport directly to the site and the nearest station is Eynsford, a 30-minute walk away. If you have any difficulties, call Eagle Heights on 01322 866466.
How much will it cost?
£5 for children, £7.95 for adults and £6.95 for students and OAPs.
Opening times and dates?
10.30am until 5pm.
What about lunch?
There is a tea room for hot and cold food and picnic areas outside.
Are there any special events or occasions to look out for?
Eagle Heights runs group photographic days from £99 per person, those 16 and over can pay to be a keeper for the day, which include the choice of looking after their cheetah for £165 per person and a husky ride through Darent Valley from £100 for two people.
