A FILM-maker based in Hither Green won an award at the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival last month. Pie n' Mash Film's south-London gangster drama Lunatic (featured in News Shopper on release last year) was named Best International Feature Drama at a ceremony in Times Square.
While in New York to collect the award, Lunatic director and star Bill Maloney took the opportunity to shoot a 120 minute docu-drama in Manhattan and Harlem.
This footage will be edited alongside footage from London for a spoof called Lilly & Billy in NY.
A new documentary, entitled Sun, Sea and Satan, about Haut de la Garenne, the Jersey care home, currently subject of a child abuse investigation, has just been sent out to film festivals for consideration.
