Making a landmark
THE proposals for the Ebbsfleet Landmark were unveiled last week, to a mixed
response (see our website for what readers thought).
Leisure is a fan (perhaps the only one) of Mark Wallinger's life-like but giant-size horse and Christopher Le Brun's
elegant winged disc.
Last month, we called for readers to send in their own proposals for the sculpture and have a few designs online for you to see.
Pictured above is a humorous suggestion from artist and historian Monty Parkin.
He calls it Monumental Headache, a tongue-in-cheek reflection of planning and bureaucracy.
It is interestingly reminiscent of Le Brun's proposal.
