Fake it this season with a TOWIE tan from B-Brown in Blackheath

Before tan Before tan

The only way to beat those winter blues is to B-Brown.

As the dark nights draw in and the weather turns even chillier, the unmistakable feeling of those wintertime blues have begun to set in.

Over lunch my friend revealed her method of how to conquer these SAD feelings - a year-round healthy glowing tan.

“It even makes me feel thinner.” She boasted.

I decided to put her theory to the test, and where better to try it out than a salon with the so-called cure on its sign.

B-Brown’s in Blackheath has been offering beauty solutions for the past seven years.

On arrival, I was met by Sarah and her friendly team.

Jess, Kayleigh, Deanah, Demi are all well experienced in the art of transforming people in need of beautifying.

The extensive list of treatments on offer includes the renowned Dermalogica facials (another great fix to survive the winter climate) as well as the popular gel nails - everything needed for a top to toe body makeover is under one roof.

Sarah talked me through the tan which she recommended for me.

Lauren’s Way is the popular tanning product by Lauren Goodger, one of the stars of ITV’s The Only Way is Essex.

The tan promises a natural golden look, lasting for around a week.

Unlike some self-tanning products on the market, this colour will fade without leaving behind tell tale patchy areas, if exfoliated correctly.

The shades available are suitable for most skin types ranging from light to very dark.

I had the dark tone selected for me.

With over 20 tans taking place each week, these girls certainly knew their stuff and I felt at ease when preparing for my new look.

In just 15 short minutes, including time for undressing and redressing, I was tanned and ready to go - I can understand why this is such a popular quick fix.

The next day I was greeted at the office with compliments on how well I looked and how natural the colour was.

I have to say I agreed.

Having been sceptical at first, I am now fully converted and The Only Way for me is to fake it until I can make it (back to the sunshine that it is).

Sarah’s golden rules of achieving a top tan:

The day before:

Exfoliate your skin all over

Remove any unwanted hair

Moisturise all over

The day of your tan and the next week:

Wear loose, dark clothes

Listen to your therapist when it comes to colour advice (Orange is not a good look for anyone)

Keep moisturising daily

Dab rather than rub when you dry Lauren’s Way spray tans are available from £26.
