African drums and steel pans on the menu for musical kids at free open day

Musical children are being invited to have a bash at playing various instruments including the steel pans at a free open day.

Bromley Youth Music Trust (BYMT) is starting new Come Out to Play classes at James Dixon Primary School in Anerley to give youngsters the opportunity to learn how to drum, strum and sing.

And on September 29, children between seven and 11-years-old are welcome to come along and have a go for free.

The event takes place from 10am to 12pm and sessions cost £3 each per week following the open day.

Pupils will be able to learn African drumming, steel pans, guitar and general musicianship.

BYMT is an independent music service, dedicated to providing opportunities for performance and enhancing musical understanding and appreciation of pupils.

Call 0208 467 1566 to book a place, or just turn up on the day.
