Spamalot at The Churchill Theatre, Bromley has everyone looking on the bright side of life
1:06pm Tuesday 1st May 2012 in Freetime latest news
For both musical lovers and fans of Monty Python, Spamalot at The Churchill Theatre, Bromley has it all.
Big musical numbers with dancing girls and men in tights, coupled with some of the funniest Python sketches all come together to form one of the best shows I have watched in years.
Spamalot takes all the best bits of the Python’s hilarious Holy Grail film and mixes up with some modern touches and a good dollop of catchy tunes.
Remember the Knights who say Ni, the rude, cow-flinging, Frenchies or the Black Knight who will not surrender – they are all in it.
Marcus Brigstocke, an incredibly funny comedian plays the lead role of King Arthur, helped by his assistant Patsy, played with great humour by ex Eastender Todd Carty.
Brigstocke displayed a fine set of lungs with a surprisingly good singing voice but stealing the show with the wow factor was Bonnie Langford who was cast as the Lady of the Lake.
There were some lovely touches in the show for Python fans as well as some big, big numbers for West End musical lovers.
King Arthur’s Knights were all well cast and it was evident they all really enjoyed playing their parts.
This show has had massive success all around the globe and it would be folly to miss out on it when it is on your doorstep.
It runs at The Churchill Theatre every night this week until Saturday May 5.
