Harvest Festivals tend to be associated with the countryside, fields of golden wheat and heavy farm machinery but this year they’re getting a bit more urban.
Greenwich Park will host one of the Royal Parks’ three free harvest festivals on Sunday, October 2.
Following in the footsteps of Regent’s Park and Kensington Gardens in the two weeks prior, Greenwich’s event will let visitors hear talks from bee experts as well as get stuck in with candle making and honey tasting.
Children can have a go at pond dipping led by experts at the Field Studies Council and try orchard-themed arts and crafts.
Experts from the Royal Parks Guild will be on hand to answer questions about food growing, too.
The fun will take place from 11am to 4pm at the Queen’s Orchard.
