A Greenwich restaurant has teamed up with an historic gin distillery to create a nautical-themed outdoor terrace.

The Plymouth Gin Dock has taken over the outside space at the Rivington in Greenwich High Road until September 18, serving specially created gin cocktails inspired by Greeniwich’s maritime history.

A pennant flag – traditionally used by naval ships in harbour to invite others onto their ship – is hoisted daily from 4pm to 7pm to start the Plymouth 'Hour' where gin and tonics cost £5.

Bespoke cocktails being served include concotions with names such as The Pennant, Bitter Peach, Barbican Southside, Apple Smash, Pink Gin and Harrison’s Martini.

Rivington Grill’s bar manager Jaiminee Patel and her team helped create the range of drinks with Plymouth. She said: “What you really want from a summer drink is something refreshing, surprising and delicious – and I think our list showcases all these qualities. It’s been exciting to work on this project with Plymouth Gin and we have until September 18 to enjoy it!”
