Plants showcased at Chelsea Flower Show have been saved and relocated to the banks of the Thames at Greenwich Peninsula to create a floating garden which will host food, arts and culture events.

Farmopolis at The Jetty officially opens on Saturday, July 30, with upcoming events including supper clubs, live music, theatre and literary salons.

Visitors can also simply visit Farmopolis to get a sense of the place and also re-home a piece of Chelsea Flower Show.

The scheme is a partnership between the peninsula, Wilderness festival organisers Secret Productions and art, design and performance practice Wayward.

Secret Productions’ director Jo Vidler said: “This is about creating an eco-system, not just the living plants but the partners and people that make it happen.

“We want to connect the dots between community, events, culture and create a movement where they all feed off each other in a really unique environment.”
