Free street dance classes for young people are coming to Honor Oak.

Launched by Lewisham Homes and supported by the Albany in Deptford, Love2Dance will give eight to 18-year-olds the chance to learn street dance, attend shows and events and take part in performances.

Last year, 246 people took part in 63 Love2Dance sessions – a more than four-fold increase on the previous year – and the new classes will allow it to grow further.

Honor Oak Community Centre in Turnham Road will host the new sessions regularly on Mondays from September 12, with sessions from 4pm to 6pm for ages eight to 11 and from 6pm to 8pm for ages 12 to 18.

Taster sessions will be held on Wednesday, July 27 and Tuesday, August 16.

Regular sessions in Sydenham and Deptford will also continue.
