A Bromley martial arts teacher is starring in an action-packed Hollywood blockbuster directed by Guy Ritche.
Tom Metcalfe, 31, who teaches Shaolin Kung Fu at Bromley High School, will play the role of a mystical monk in King Arthur: Knights of the Round Table, scheduled for release in spring 2017.
Mr Metcalfe, who lives in Blackbrook Lane, Bromley, was also able to assist with choreography and help with the monk’s costumes, as he has been practicing Shaolin since he was 14 years old.
Mr Metcalfe is not allowed to give away details that could spoil the plot but thinks it will be 'as big as Lord of the Rings.'

He told News Shopper about the experience of filming alongside A-listers at Warner Brother Studios in Leavesden where he met stars Eric Bana, Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law and director Guy Richie several times while filming.
He said: “It was amazing, we have been doing it for the last year, about 14 months, I play the role of a mystical monk.
“The whole experience has been amazing and I feel very fortunate to be a part of it.
“Everyone was very friendly, professional and a pleasure to work with.
"We were all really well looked after the whole time we were there and they were very open with letting us be creative and use the skills that we had to improve the scene.”

The opportunity has opened other doors and he has now been signed to an agent and hopes to develop a career in film.
He said: “I was also lucky enough to be invited in the costume and make up department, because I teach Shaolin and wear the robes.
“I was given the opportunity to help choreograph the scenes that I was in.”
He hopes that his success can show his students what is possible to achieve with martial arts training.
Mr Metcalfe said: “They love it, they think it is amazing, it has inspired some people to step their training up a little bit more.
“It has opened up doors.”
