Television presenter and president of the RSPB Miranda Krestovnikoff will open a new exhibition at Ightham Mote this month.
The celebrated National Trust property – which featured in a special edition of Channel 4’s Time Team – is to open its Nature and Art showcase celebrating two of its most famous residents.
The medieval moated manor house near Seveoaks was home to two gentleman artists in the 19th century – renowned naturalist Prideaux John Selby, who produced Illustrations of British Ornithology, and Charles La Trobe, a botanist and the first Governor of Victoria in Australia.
Opening on Monday, February 29, the exhibition includes some of their work, while watercolour artist John Wiltshire will be running workshops for visitors.
