Strictly Come Dancing fans will see more than just the ballroom this weekend when Horniman museum features on the hit TV show.

The BBC’s crew and a handful of professional dancers visited the Forest Hill gem during the summer to film a segment which will be screened on Sunday’s show.

The museum’s Linda Hughes said: “Professional dancers Karen and Kevin, Joanne and Tristan and the Strictly crew visited us on a glorious day in August to film the routine.

“We’re delighted that the Horniman’s Gardens – in their full summer splendour – will be seen by such a huge audience.”

The theme for this week’s dances is the movies and, ahead of the famed group dance, the dancers shot their ‘trailer’ at the Horniman.

Strictly is just the latest show to use the Horniman Museum as a location. In recent months, it has been in demand as a location for Don’t Tell the Bride, The Autistic Gardener on Channel 4 and Selling Homes with Amanda Lamb.

In the hit Channel 4 show Humans, the museum’s bandstand was the location for a dramatic meeting between the humans and the synths.
