An award-winning team of south east Londoners have opened Beckenham’s newest bar and eatery.

Kelsey House Bar and Kitchen has opened in the High Street following extensive building and refurbishment work.

It is the brainchild of award-winning bartenders Vin Read and Pete Marshall, who wanted to create a beautiful venue with a drinks list comprising great cocktails, excellent wines and craft beer alongside familiar-yet-inspiring food.

Vin said: “We wanted Kelsey House to be an environment dedicated to everything we are passionate about. A place that was relaxing during the day but then vibrant in the evening.

“We are delighted with how the venue looks and knew we had to compliment it with a great food and drink offering.

"We are huge fans of craft beers and wine so they feature strongly, Craig, head bartender, created a modern cocktail selection we all fell in love with and we even created our own coffee blend.

“Our aim was to construct the perfect all day hangout, a place that had a reason to visit whatever the time of day.”

Chris Kelly, who was in charge of The Lord Northbrook in Lee when it won the ShortList magazine pub of the year award in 2014, has developed Kelsey House’s food.

He added: “We want to make Kelsey House the heart of the Beckenham community.

"It is a superb area, with a vast number of daily commuters who want to enjoy the same standards of food, drink and service as you see in major cities – Kelsey House looks stunning and we have created a menu and built a team that is able to ensure that style and substance do go hand in hand.

“Sharing platters and small plates anchor the menu which also features a great selection of homemade burgers and other favourites allowing our guests to choose between grazing or dining when they visit Kelsey House.”
