Chislehurst is going back to the swinging sixties as the outdoor cinema returns.
Fancy dress is encouraged for the fourth year of Chislehurst’s Open Air Cinema at St Nicholas Primary School’s playing fields on Saturday, July 11.
Expect to see hippies, mods, peace protestors and an astronaut or two for the screening with a difference.
The film is the 1969-set family comedy The Dish (2000), which is based on real events and stars Sam Neill as the head of a group of Aussie scientists struggling with a series of mishaps to play their part in the Apollo 11 moon landings by manning a NASA satellite dish.
As well as the film and fancy dress, the outdoor cinema features homemade pizza and barbecue food, a licensed bar and themed craft activities for children.
Doors open at 7pm, a live band is on at 7.30pm and the film starts at twilight.
You’re advised to wrap up warm and bring something to sit on.
A suggested donation is £10 adults and £5 children aged four to 17 in advance or £12.50 and £7.50 on the door. Proceeds go to the Trustees of Chislehurst Common to preserve the village’s green spaces.
Tickets are available from JDM Estate Agents in the High Street, Higgs the Butcher in Royal Parade or at visitchislehurst.org.uk
