Brockley is gearing up for nine fun-packed days of community events as Brockley Max returns.

The festival, from May 29 to June 6, features a more than 70 events in Brockley, Crofton Park, Honor Oak and Ladywell and most of them are free.

Kicking off with a musical showcase outside Brockley station from 3pm on May 29, the festival will encompass gigs, live street art, open studios, film, theatre and children’s activities.



Highlights include Brockley Brewery’s Beer Festival on June 3, a paint-along supper on June 4 and Brockleywood Nights, where locally made short films will be shown under the stars on June 5.

Things will get spooky at Buried Treasures on May 31, with a candlelit show at Brockley and Ladywell Cemetery featuring stories, song and shadow.

Brockley Max’s climax will be an evening of cabaret at a New York-style pop-up piano bar at The Honor Oak pub.
