The village’s big celebration kicks off with a parade along Queensway from the News Shopper car park before the May Queen, Isabelle Nemeth, is crowned by the mayor at 11am at Petts Wood Memorial Hall. Attractions include maypole dancing, funfair rides, music and dance, face painting and lots to eat.
Deptford Food Festival, Giffin Square Market from 9am to 5.30pm on Saturday
Street food traders will be showing off an extensive range of tasty food from around the world including French, Mexican, Polish, Italian, Ethiopian and more.
