You don’t have to be a guest to have a bite at Bromley Court Hotel’s newly-refurbished Garden Restaurant.
The 180-cover dining room overlooks the historic hotel’s two acre landscaped garden and has a new lighter, brighter feel with a bit of the garden brough indoors for the feel of a 1920s Parisian brasserie.
The hotel’s food and beverage manager Jaspal Singh said: “We want local people to feel they can pop in for a drink, relax on the terrace with some nibbles, enjoy afternoon tea, or come in for a meal at any time.”
The building, built in 1801, has been a hotel since 1931 and has hosted the likes of Jimi Hendrix and David Bowie at its live Jazz nights. It was a base for fighter pilots in the Second World War and Harold MacMillan used it to hold a cabinet meeting while he was Prime Minister and MP for Bromley.
Kent-born chef Steve Clark has put his 20 years’ experience into the new brasserie-style menu, too, which includes sharing boards or one, two or three-course meals. There is a also a cocktail bar.
