An aspiring film director is releasing his third feature length film - at only 14 years old.

Sidcup's Jamie Moreland has planned, filmed and edited his movie tirelessly for the last year.

The Hurstmere School pupil will showcase the results at Bexleyheath central library on February 28 from 2-4pm.

Jamie, who lives on Camborne Road, said: "It's such a good feeling when you have been working on something for so long, and it's the end result that makes it all worthwhile."

He added: "I do not have a second to spare. Everything's either school or filming. But obviously school comes first."

The James Bond inspired film Parallel, which stars Jamie's 11-year-old brother Jack as Bond, is the third in his trilogy and was shot in central London.

Jamie's dad has been driving the boys to London every weekend, to film at landmarks such as Westminster Bridge and in Vauxhall near the MI6 base.

Jamie said: "One time we drove up at 4 o'clock in the morning in the summer holidays because that's the only time you can get London empty and it's light."

THE TRAILER FOR JAMIE'S NEW FILM

The film is called Parallel and is a science fiction twist on the James Bond theme.

He said: "Obviously it gives you a lot of stuff to play with.

"Because sometimes in the film industry ideas can run a bit thin on the ground."

TODAY'S TOP STORIES

Jamie first became interested in film making when he joined Hurstmere at eleven, but he was disappointed when his school's drama department closed last year.

Since then, Jamie and a group of ten to fifteen boys have set up their own drama club, meeting on Thursday lunchtimes and after school.

Jamie said: "The school has given a lot of support even though drama does not exist anymore."

Jamie still studies film in his Media lessons and said: "It's more the behind the scenes stuff that grabs me now."
