We're used to seeing Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman critiquing the performance of celebrities, but how about seeing him on the dancefloor?

News Shopper has been given an exclusive glimpse into Len Goodman's own dancing past as he shares these photos with us ahead of his book signing in Bluewater Waterstones this Thursday.

Len's new book Dancing Around Britain takes readers through early dance styles and trends as he explores the social impact on people's daily lives, from the fashion and music to a familiar weekend rite of passage he remembers fondly, plucking up the courage for that 'tap on the shoulder'.

In his book, Len goes on a personal journey around Britain sharing his dance hall memories in his own unique style and featuring rare and unseen images from the millions of images in the Daily Mirror's historic archives.

The 70-year-old was born in Farnborough village and lived in Blackfen, Welling and Bexley as a younger man before setting up a dance school in Dartford in the 1970s. He now lives in Greenhithe.

Len Goodman will be at Waterstones in Bluewater from 5.30pm on Thursday (October 30).
