You’re in Lee with an hour or two, where should you go and what should you see? Vibe’s Jessy Parker Humphreys found out...
A pint or two
The Lord Northbrook is Lee residents’ watering hole of choice, and it’s easy to see why. Despite previously winning the New Shoppers’ award for the worst pub in South East London, the pub has been refurbished and updated. It now offers a brilliant selection of beers, along with gourmet three course meals, and of course, all the pub classics.
If you fancy some fresh air
Manor House Gardens is one of the loveliest parks in London. With the children’s playground situated next to the cafe, parents can enjoy a coffee whilst keeping an eye on the kids. There’s also an area gated off especially for dog walkers, as well as tennis courts and a sports area.
Biking around
You can make the most of Manor House Gardens and the surrounding area by visiting it by bike. Pedal It sells a range of new and second hand bikes, as well as all of the necessary accessories you need to cycle safely.
Local coffee
With Jam And Bread is the best place to grab a coffee or a snack in Lee. With the coffee beans being roasted just down the road in Grove Park, it was opened by Jennie Milson when she was writing her book about cafe life in London. She definitely knows what she is talking about. It was even recently featured as one of London’s best cafes in The Telegraph.
Beauty
Aroma Beauty Rooms is the perfect opportunity to sit back and enjoy some TLC. The beauty salon offers everything from manicures to make up.
