The epic open-world crime adventure Grand Theft Auto V and its creator Rockstar Games will be making their highly anticipated next-gen debuts just in time for Christmas.

Rockstar has announced GTAV will arrive on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 18.

Good news for PC gamers too is a desktop/lap version will follow on January 27.

On all three platforms GTAV will feature a range of “major visual and technical upgrades to make Los Santos and Blaine County more immersive than ever.”

Rockstar says that In addition to “increased draw distances and higher resolution”, players can expect a range of new activities, weapons and vehicles, added wildlife, denser traffic, new foliage system and enhanced damage and weather effects.

Enhanced radio selections, with more than 100 new songs and new DJ mixes, will also feature.

All players who pre-order the game will receive $1,000,000 in-game cash to spend across Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online.

A host of new, exclusive content also awaits players returning from the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions including rare versions of classic vehicles to collect from across the Grand Theft Auto series such as the Dukes, the Dodo Seaplane and a faster, more manoeuvrable Blimp, activities, including wildlife photography, and new shooting range challenges, new weapons and more.

Enhancements to Grand Theft Auto Online include an increased player count, with online play now for up to 30 players on PS4 and Xbox One.

All existing gameplay upgrades and Rockstar-created content released since the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online will be available for the three new formats.

Existing players on PS3 or Xbox 360 will be able to transfer their current Grand Theft Auto Online characters and progression to their choice of next-gen console or PC.
