London’s longest-running multimedia club night celebrating learning disability culture is returning to the South Bank on September 6.
The Beautiful Octopus Club at Royal Festival Hall, from 7pm to midnight, is free and will feature 12 live performers and 20 top DJs across five stages.
Performers include multimedia artist and filmmaker Dele Fakoya, from Lewisham, and Deptford visual artist Ifeoma Orjiekwe.
Run by learning disability company Heart n Soul, it is in its sixth year and has previously attracted more than 3,000 people.
As well as music, there will be multi-sensory experiences including The Tunnel of Love, which features mirrors, a soundtrack of giggles and love songs, vibrating rooms, a giant Twister mat, live performances, a powder room and a cinema.
The Beautiful Octopus Club is part of the Southbank Centre’s Unlimited programme, which celebrates the artistic vision and originality of disabled artists, from September 2 to 7.
