IN THIRTY years at the forefront of design Daniel Weil has worked with the likes of Lego, Swatch, Benetton, Coca-Cola, the Pet Shop Boys and Grey Goose.

The first museum exhibition of his work - Time Machines: Daniel Weil and the Art of Design - at The Design Museum from May 14 to August 31, features specially-created pieces as well as opening up his sketchbooks and personal archive.

Daniel said of his work: “My designs are time machines, in their process of making and expression of the moment.”

Daniel came to England from Argentina in 1981 to study at the Royal College of Art before forging a stellar and continuously inventive career. The exhibition focuses on the process of designer and how a designer thinks and works.

From clocks, cutlery and chess sets, nearly all of Weil’s designs evolve from simple pencil drawings in one of hundreds of identical sketchbooks.

Admission costs £12.40 adults, £9.30 students and members and is free for under 6s. Call 020 79408790 or go to designmuseum.org
