SHOT in Biggin Hill Airport and Greenwich's Old Royal Naval College, the Ferrier Estate in Kidbrooke and Crystal Palace Park - 10 flicks you didn't know were filmed in News Shopper's patch.

1. The Da Vinci Code (2006) - In Ron Howard's adaptation of Dan Brown's best-selling novel, Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) and Sophie Neveu (Audrey Tautou) flee the French police and head to the UK in a private jet. They land in Biggin Hill Airport, where the police are waiting for them...

2. Nil By Mouth (1997) - The now demolished Ferrier Estate in Kidbrooke was used as the backdrop for New Cross-born Gary Oldman's directorial debut, which tells the vaguely autobiographical story of a dysfunctional family living in South East London.

3. 28 Days Later (2002) - In Danny Boyle's masterful horror, Jim (Cillian Murphy) and friends attempt to flee London and get a flat tyre under a bridge. As they change the tyre the infected close in, preceded by hundreds of rats. The scene was filmed in the Blackwall tunnel in Greenwich.

4. Shaun of the Dead (2004) - In the first part of Edgar Wright's Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, external shots of the Winchester pub were filmed outside the Duke of Albany pub, Monson Road, New Cross. The internal scenes were shot at Ealing Studios.

5. Spider (2002) - Another film, another south east London pub. David Cronenberg's tale of a mentally ill man piecing together fragments of his childhood, which starred Ralph Fiennes, was partly filmed at the Crown and Spectre pub in Friendly Street, Deptford. In the film the pub is called the Dog and Beggar.

6. Blow-Up (1966) - In Michelangelo Antonioni's must-see film, which tells the story of a London-based photographer (David Hemmings) who believes he may have witnessed a murder, the park scenes were filmed in Maryon Park, Charlton. The film co-stars Greenwich's Vanessa Redgrave.

7. A Clockwork Orange (1971) - Scenes from Stanley Kubrick's controversial adaptation of Anthony Burgess's classic novel were shot in Thamesmead - the then newly built Thamesmead South housing estate doubling as home of protagonist Alex (Malcolm McDowell).

One of the film's most famous sequences takes place in Binsey Walk, by Southmere Lake. Overlooked by the tower blocks of Yarnton Way, Alex reasserts his dominance over his droogs by dumping Dim in the water and slicing his outstretched hand.

8. Eastern Promises (2007) - David Cronenberg seems to favour Deptford as a filming location, with Watergate Street appearing twice in the film. According to one character, the alleyway leading from the street to the river is a very good place to get rid of unwanted bodies: "The current keeps the bodies under the surface until it gets around the corner."

9. The Dark Knight Rises (2012) - A huge number of high-profile films have been shot a Greenwich's Old Royal Naval College (see also: Les Miserables, Skyfall, Thor: The Dark World), and the final installment of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy is no exception.

When Alfred (Michael Cane) dreams of seeing Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) in a little cafe in Florence, the cafe he pictures is not, in reality, in Italy - it's in a small but apparently very in-demand pocket of South East London.

10. The Italian Job (1969) - In the Michael Caine classic, Crystal Palace Park provides the location of one of the most memorable scenes in the film, in which Caine delivers the line: "You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!"
