ROLES don’t come much more different than the ones Gabrielle Dempsey's tackling in the next couple of months.

From Wednesday (January 22) until Saturday, January 25, she plays nine-year-old Eva who was sent off to England from Austria in the lead up to the Second World War at The Churchill Theatre in Bromley.

Then in April, you’ll see her on screen as a sword fighting innkeeper’s daughter in the hugely-successful series Game of Thrones.

It’s the 25-year-old’s first major TV role since graduating from the Central School of Speech and Theatre in 2010.

She said: “It is only a small part but it was incredibly good fun to film.

“I was really lucky last year because I did Romeo and Juliet and got to do a lot of sword fighting and I think that was one of the reasons I was recruited.

“There’s a massive fight in my scene. I can’t tell you anything else but it was incredibly good fun to film; ducking and swerving and climbing around things. I’m really excited to see what it looks like.

“It was a great thing to be a part of. It’s so buzzy. Everyone’s got their job to do and there are so many people running around on set.”

After auditioning in London, Gabrielle travelled to Northern Ireland last summer for filming.

She said: “It was beautiful weather, lovely sunny days, and I was wearing a lot of wool. It wasn’t the perfect outfit to be wearing.”

She added: “I haven’t seen anything yet, but I love the show so I’ll be watching it anyway. I might just blink when I come on screen so I don’t catch myself.”

Catch Gabrielle before she’s wowing the world on TV when Kinderstransport is at The Churchill from January 22 to 25. Tickets cost £10 to £25 at atgtickets.com/Bromley or by call 0844 871 7620.
