What makes a**holes tick? A new book explores a burning question
11:26am Wednesday 25th September 2013 in Leisure latest news
WE ALL know a few, but what makes an a**hole tick?
For those of us who need unnecessarily complex answers to questions like this, there is now literature.
Associate Professor of Philosophy at University of California, Aaron James – who insists he is not an a**hole, despite spelling the word like the donkey and not the part of the anatomy – has penned A**holes: A Theory.
The tome, a follow-up to On Bulls**t, is out now and promises to be “intellectually provocative and existentially necessary” according to the publisher Nicholas Brealey Publishing.
The book deals with understanding their kind, and knowing when to resist or ignore, as well as focussing on the different types of a**holes.
This is what Harpers Magazine had to say about it: “Equal parts philosophical meditation and historical survey, but its true value lies in his attempt to precisely define the term.”
A**holes: A Theory by Aaron James is out now, £8.99
