Tear down the Thames on a 315-horsepower jet boat
IF YOU love sight-seeing but hate being treated like an OAP - a trip on Thamesjet could be the thing for you.
You can now explore the capital's highlights on the Thames' only commercial jet-powered boat at speeds of up to 40mph while chasing terrorists.
After ambling along past some of the capital's favourite sights with commentary from Alan Ford (the terrifying cockney from the film Snatch), our gentle cruise was suddenly interrupted by a military radio operator declaring a major "security alert" further down the river.
With that, the boat and its 315 horsepower engine, burst into life - "turning tighter, going faster and stopping harder" than any other rigid inflatable boat on the Thames.
It felt more like 70mph as we chased the imaginary criminals towards Greenwich with the spray lashing our eyelids.
This is a truly exhilarating experience which certainly gets the heart racing. But like all major security operations, it comes at a price.
A 50-minute Thamesrush experience costs £35 per adult and £21 per child while a 70-minute Thamesmax dash to the Thames Barrier puts you back £49 per adult and £30 per child, all starting and ending at Westminster Pier.
