Youngsters put on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in Gravesend
YOUNG people in Gravesend were given the challenge of condensing Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory into a 20-minute group performance.
Woodville Theatre for Youth brought together 23 youngsters aged seven to 15, most of whom had never met, and helped them to put on the group performance.
The final show featured four Willy Wonkas and several Charlie Buckets performed to proud parents on Thursday, August 15.
Woodville Theatre for Youth instructor Claire Goatham said: “For some of the cast this was their first experience of performing, but watching the final performance you never would have guessed.
“We set up a little photo shoot on the last day and each of the young people got to take home their own head shot too, it was lovely to see their proud faces as they handed over their photo’s to the parents after the show.”
