GREENWICH punters will be having a barrel of laughs with a Bavarian beer festival next month.
Drinks company Meantime Brewing is hosting the event, modelled on Munich’s Starkbierfest, at The Greenwich Union, in Royal Hill, between March 4 and 10.
They will also be celebrating the Bavarian theme with a selection of pretzels, knockwurst, sauerkraut, and pork knuck.
Meantime’s beer sommelier Rod Jones will also host an exploration of German beer styles with six different beers and a bratwurst for £20 on March 5 at 7pm.
Starkbierfest takes place in Munich in the middle of March and has been going for centuries since reportedly being devised by monks who brewed an extra-strong beer to sustain themselves throughout the fasting period of Lent.
