She may be unrecognisable thanks to her “badger” wig, but West End legend Bonnie Langford is returning to Bromley with an outrageously funny show.

With show tunes penned by country and western queen Dolly Parton, 9 to 5 The Musical is a hilarious new comedy based on the hit movie.

And Bonnie, who plays Roz Keith, is looking forward to treading the boards at The Churchill Theatre once again.

She told News Shopper: “I’ve worked at Bromley so many times.

“They have just named a dressing room after me.

“Isn’t that camp?

“It’s such a sweet thing.”

Along with Bonnie, the show stars Natalie Casey (Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps) as Judy Bernly.

Bonnie added: “Dolly Parton is a great woman, very loved by the entire nation and she writes a mean country tune – she’s a very clever lady.

“The show follows very truthfully to the film, but it also has a wonderful score.”

The musical centres on three office workers who turn the tables on their sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot of a boss.

They conspire to take control of the company and learn there’s nothing they can’t do. Outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic, 9 to 5 is about teaming up and taking care of business.

Bonnie, who last performed at The Churchill in Spamalot, added: “Women seem to find it empowering.

“We see lots of groups of women coming and they find it great fun.

“It’s almost farcical.

“It’s a romp.”

But you might have to look twice to notice the theatre starlet.

“You won’t recognise me in the show.” Bonnie said.

“My wig has been renamed The Badger by my daughter.

“This one is good, it conceals me.”

With 18 original Dolly Parton numbers, including Backwoods Barbie, Shine Like the Sun and Let Love Grow, the show of course features its title hit.

Dolly added: "I'm hoping you have as much fun watching the show as I had writing the music for it.

“9 to 5 the Musical is perfect for anyone who’s ever wanted to string up their boss, which is almost all of us.”

The fabulous, toe-tapping extravaganza runs at The Churchill from January 28 to February 2.
