Greenwich: Evening with the Stars, Royal Observatory Greenwich, various dates in January
This amazing after-dark experience at the planetarium gives you the chance to look at the night sky through a gigantic telescope.
Enjoy a hot drink upon the Prime Meridian and look out onto the wonderful views. Astronomers are also on hand to answer all space-related questions. Overall a great treat for all the family with children over seven years old.
In the event of bad weather, guests will get an opportunity to view footage taken through the 28-inch telescope and hear about astronomical discoveries past and present.

Forest Hill: World Of Stories, Horniman Museum, January 20
Traditional tales will told at the Horniman this Sunday by Olivia Armstrong. The stories are inspired by the seasons and by the diverse collections at the museum.
The event is suitable for children aged three plus and must be accompanied by an adult. The World of Stories is free so is a great way to entertain children with no cost this January. Visit horniman.ac.uk
