Me and My Tattoo: Kate Marston
9:22am Tuesday 27th November 2012 in Freetime latest news By Nikki Jarvis
Kate Marston, 36, Sidcup
Why this design?
I had an old piece of Chinese writing on my lower back which I wanted to cover.
I wanted a bird as my daughter loves anything to do with them, and then cherry blossom added some colour.
Brigi (tattoo artist) designed it and it’s beautiful.
How much did it cost?
£120 for one hour and a half under the needle – there was no charge for drawing time.
Did it hurt?
It was incredibly painful.
It’s the worst place I have been tattooed.
I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy.
But it is absolutely, totally worth it.
What did your friends say?
They love it.
They say it’s so much better than what was there before and it’s really pretty.
This made them want one too.
Have you got any more?
Yes, I have a snowflake on my hip which I had done in Las Vegas when I worked in America. My friend has the same and she’s in Oz now.
I also have a tribal design on my ankle which I’ve had since university.
