If there is someone you want to express your gratitude to, whether they donated a kidney or opened a door for you, we want to hear about it.

Here’s who readers are thanking this week:

We would like to say a thank you to a member of the Trust Thamesmead team, community development officer, Linda Delieu. Linda has dedicated over quarter of a century to supporting residents, community groups and volunteers in Thamesmead, working tirelessly to help the local community improve their lives and access opportunities.

Lucy Webb, head of partnerships and engagement at Trust Thamesmead.

I'd like to thank my 15-year-old son, James Byrne, for walking an 87-year-old lady from St Paul's Church, Crofton Road, to The Crofton Baptist Church in Crofton Lane. She asked for directions but he insisted that he escort her safely to her destination. I'm proud to have such a caring, thoughtful son.

Kay Byrne, Orpington

We hear so many stories of people being badly treated by the NHS that sometimes the good side is overlooked.  In my case I visited my GP because I hadn’t eaten or passed anything for five or six days, my system was completely blocked. The next day I decided to go to the PRUH urgent section, where I had an examination, two scans and an operation in the same day. All the doctors, nurses and staff were all very helpful in every way. I am sure I could not have had better treatment anywhere else.

Mr J A Franklin, Petts Wood

Thank you so much to the lady who found my handbag hanging on a Waitrose trolley in the public car park at Burnt Ash and handed it in to Waitrose staff.  I got all the way home before I discovered it was missing and I was in such a panic.  Thank goodness for honest people like her.

B Crisp

Thank you to the staff at Orpington Hospital who came to the aid of my husband and I when we had an accident in the car park. They looked after us and contacted the insurance company and got the car taken away. We are so grateful.

Mrs Newman, Orpington

Last week I went to the eye clinic at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup, and what a lovely lot of nurses and specialist – they put you right at ease. When I finished, I sat in a nice armchair to wait for my daughter and I was amazed at how many people use the hospital. It will be a disaster to close it down. I really hope they don’t.

Mrs M Williams, Orpington
